This presentation by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston will discuss works of art by artists who are female. Some of these women had to face numerous roadblocks that kept them from having the same opportunities as artists who were male. Others of these artists had to face the challenge of working as an artist when their work was subject to censorship by the autocratic government of the country in which they resided. The goal of this presentation is to introduce you to some artists that you may not be so familiar with so you can examine their work which shows unique and sometimes courageous points of view.
